Operating systems: Pocket PC, Windows, Web.
Desired experience in Compact .net framework, using source control and unit testing.

Job Title:
Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description:
Volt has partnered with a Central Valley leader in technology and innovation to seek out an experienced, embedded software engineer. The company is seeking a highly skilled design and development engineer to analyze, design, program, debug, and modify programs and/or end user applications with embedded software including but not limited to user interface (UI). Another primary function for this key role is to investigate applications/engineering tasks and prepare design analysis, specifications, and present recommendations based on findings with sound business judgment. Qualified candidates will be able to perform these tasks under minimal supervision from the department manager and will interface well with peers, support staff, and all project stakeholders.

Job Requirements:
Qualified Candidates will possess the following skills:
-Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering from a 4-year college or university.
-3 or more years relative work experience in embedded software development
-Must be able to demonstrate a logical and systematic software architectural definition, design, and development approach.
-Project management skills and experience are necessary to successfully navigate this role.
-C, C++ embedded software development is required.
-Knowledge of Ethernet stack is essential.
-Embedded O/S experience such as Nucleus, VxWorks, QNX is mandatory.
-Experience with various network protocols like ((TCP/IP, IEEE802.xx, SNMP, XML, Java, is required. (Including Network Management)
-Ability and willingness to work on a team or as an individual contributor.
-Attitude is everything, and qualified candidates with a servitude attitude will be given preference.
-Must have the capability to communicate well with all those encountered during the normal course of business.
-Candidate must display respect and integrity while conducting business.

Desired Skills and Abilities:
-Ability to develop network protocols/schemas such as (L2, IP, IPSec, IP, Tunneling protocols [IP-in-IP, GRE] is a plus.
-RADIUS client / server implementation in embedded environments is a plus
-Familiarity with Motorola processors is preferred.
-Some experience in an ISO9000 quality environment is a plus.
